Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions parents, schools and professionals ask most often.
Who is behind screenandself?
screenandself is the practice of Natalie De Schepper, recognised psychologist (recognition number 882111447, visa number 265916). She supports families, schools, organisations and professionals around screens, gaming and digital wellbeing.
Who can I turn to screenandself for?
Parents of children and teens, schools (teachers, pupils and parents), organisations and employers, and care professionals who want training, intervision or supervision on gaming and screen use.
Is it only about screen time?
No. Conflicts about screens are rarely only about screens. We look at what screens mean for your child, at the needs beneath the behaviour, and at the connection between parent and child — and from there at workable agreements.
What kinds of support are there?
An info session (Inspireer), a group trajectory for parents of teens (Verdiep), a multi-day family journey in nature (Ervaar), individual parent guidance, and tailor-made programs for schools, organisations and professionals. You can find all offerings on the Services page.
Can I first get to know you without obligation?
Yes. The first conversation is free, so you can find out together which support suits your family.
Do I need to bring my child?
Not necessarily. Much of the support is aimed at parents, because small changes in how you respond can already make a big difference at home.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. As a recognised psychologist, Natalie is bound by professional secrecy and the code of ethics for psychologists. In group sessions, all participants are asked to treat what others share confidentially.
What if I can't make an appointment?
You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 48 hours before the start. Later cancellations or no-shows are charged in full. See the terms & conditions for details.
How much does it cost and how do I pay?
Prices are stated per offering on the website or in a tailor-made offer for schools and organisations. The payment method is communicated at registration.
Where do the sessions take place?
My practice is located in Antwerp at 3house, Oudaan 16, on the 2nd floor. Online consultations can also be scheduled.
Is screenandself suitable in a crisis?
No. In an emergency, call 112. For suicidal thoughts, contact the Zelfmoordlijn on 1813. For an anonymous conversation, call Tele-Onthaal on 106.
